I thought the Matthew McConaughey commercial was over the top. Jim Carrey spoofed it for good reason. But this? THIS is so BAD. I like Scott. Have eaten at his restaurants. But dude, really? You thought it was ok to do this? Do your chef buddies still talk to you?

I get that they are going for the Range Rover HSE crowd with this but still...who looked at the final edit and said, "WIN!"

man alive I hate this ad. "Staying connected to people, its why I bought a glitzy Nissan Patrol."

Not to mention that this SUV is the ugliest bloated piece of blob I've ever seen. The side grille literally looks like they cut a piece off of HR Giger's Alien. Every time I see one of these on the road, my face makes an involuntary scowl and I have to admit, I judge the hell out of the person that bought that rolling abomination. But mostly, I just hate Nissan and Infiniti for making bloated ugly ass cars.
"Lets take a car with beautiful lines, attach an air pump to it and bloat it up a bit. But wait! For the QX80, lets pump it up even more! Lets make it look like an inflatable bounce house! People love those! And add this Alien grille on the side. I love HR Giger's work."

I don't get it. Maybe I'm too poor to understand rich people marketing? I mean, the "Unpimp Ze Auto" VW commercials back in the day really spoke to me. This classy shit just makes me want to go all Tyler Durden on somebody's soup.

I like this car because I don't see them in Europe and it looks like a Ssangyoung. The interiour looks nice. the commercial is not .

FYI, this is a much better vehicle as a Nissan.
in this form I can not only bare to look at it...I kinda like it. Those fender vents are still lame, but the whole thing looks pretty great. BTW, the patrol Y62 is something of a flop (no diesel, no solid axles)

Yeah, when I was a kid I asked my dad why high end ski resort lift tickets (like those at Vail, Aspen) cost $100 as opposed to the $50 alternatives at Loveland, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin. Wouldn't they get so many more customers at $50? Yeah, but they make more by keeping it exclusive at $100—you don't get the rabble wandering in off the street crowding out and scaring away all the big spenders—making it
even more
popular among the rich.
So there it is. You don't make big bucks by manufacturing the People's Car and hawking it in New Jersey. You make it by selling the $60/70/80K+ rides to the upper 10% of the earners on the Upper West/East Side who need something to drive to the Hamptons.

I like the McConaughey commericals - at least it's not saying I'm a complete ass that drives a tank with fender vents. Also - these are my favorite. At least it's creative:

The never-ending parade of Lexuses with big red bows on them are clearly the worst car commercials ever. This Infiniti ad doesn't even come close.
You know why you should buy a Lexus? So you can give it as a gift and put a big red bow on it, and make sure the bow is made by a woman wearing stiletto heels while operating the foot pedals of her antique sewing machine.
Lexus also has the other most-pretentious commercial, this mess:

Oh no, I'd forgotten about the execrable seasonal ads from Lexus, a brand I despise even without their horrible marketing. And now we're racing headlong in to that season again.

Sure this is a contender in the pageant of pretension:

Oh...I forgot about this one. Jesus Christ...

When it comes pretension and douchery, it's a crowded field, I'm afraid.

The personal pretension of the Infinity ad is bad. But the whole "bashing those stupid socialist Europeans" slant of this is just foul. This dude does NOT speak for me! lol!
